Client’s Goal

Determine whether a birth record existed for the client’s Canadian-born ancestor to support a Canadian citizenship by descent application.

Project Outcome

Although no birth record was located, additional research uncovered a death certificate documenting that the client’s ancestor had been born in Canada. The evidence provided the documentation needed to support the client’s citizenship application despite the absence of a surviving birth record.

This complex project required the evaluation of conflicting records, multiple individuals with similar names, DNA evidence, and historical documentation. Research extended the client’s paternal ancestry by several generations while uncovering additional family relationships, land records, and historical context. A comprehensive research report documented both the conclusions reached and the remaining questions where the evidence was inconclusive.

The client’s existing genealogical research was organized into a professionally designed family tree book using photographs, historical records, backgrounds, and supporting content to create an attractive keepsake for the family and future generations to enjoy.

Client’s Goal

The client, who was adopted at birth, wanted to identify their biological parents through DNA. The project focused on analyzing the client’s closest DNA matches, identifying relationship patterns, and using documentary evidence to determine where those matches fit within the client’s biological family.

Project Outcome

Strong patterns among the client’s closest DNA matches quickly pointed to both sides of the biological family. The DNA evidence, combined with documentary research, allowed both biological parents to be identified and the relationships to be independently corroborated.
