About Linda Henderson

Hello, I’m Linda Henderson, founder of Kinfolk Origins.

For more than 36 years, I built a career in document management, records administration, and information services, where organization, accuracy, and attention to detail were essential every day. Along the way, I graduated from court reporting school, an experience that further strengthened my commitment to precision, careful documentation, and clear written communication.

While my professional career centered on records and information management, genealogy had long been my passion. I spent years researching my own family history, solving genealogical puzzles, and uncovering the stories hidden within historical records.

As consumer DNA testing became more widely available, my interest naturally expanded into genetic genealogy. By combining DNA analysis with traditional documentary research, I found particular success helping clients identify unknown parents and uncover immediate family connections. It was a natural extension of my passion for research, evidence analysis, and solving complex family mysteries.

As technology transformed my profession, I recognized an opportunity to devote myself full-time to the work I had always loved most. What began as a lifelong passion became a professional career dedicated to helping others discover, document, and preserve their own family histories.

Today, through Kinfolk Origins, I assist clients with traditional genealogical research, DNA analysis, living heir research, Canadian citizenship by descent documentation, and custom family history books. I also specialize in transforming complex research into clear, well-organized reports that explain not only what the evidence reveals, but how those conclusions were reached.

To me, genealogy is about far more than names and dates. Every historical record represents a person, a family, and a story waiting to be discovered. Whether I’m breaking through a long-standing brick wall, documenting a family’s journey across generations, or helping someone discover their biological origins, my goal is always the same—to preserve family stories with accuracy, clarity, and compassion.
